Born May 17, 1960 in Pittsburgh, son of the late James Stewart and Betty Williamson Stewart, who survives. He was a member of Gladden UP Church, Masonic Lodge F&AM, a ?re?ghter of the South Fayette Twp.Vol Fire Dept. for 40+ years and was 2nd LT. for many years. He enjoyed hunting, ?shing, and woodworking. He voluntarily coached South Fayette Twp. football, baseball, and girls softball. He was one of the original organizers of the South Fayette School District Food and Gift Drive. He loved the traditions created by family, and would do anything for family at anytime. He was a Supervisor and Equipment Operator for Univar- Weavertown Environmental, Cecil Twp. and previously operated J&S Excavating. He was a master and mechanic of heavy equipment. Surviving are wife, Debi Stewart of Cuddy; son, Michael (companion, Seana Bandi) Stewart of Carnegie; daughter, Leah (Eric) Schnelzer of McDonald; son, Cody J. Stewart; and daughter, Linsey Stewart both of Cuddy; grandchildren, Johnathan, Corey, and Savannah; sister, Sharon (Jamie) Schidek of Carnegie; brother, Albert (Donna) Fiorentini of Bridgevill;, two brothers- in-law, Michael McAndrew of Murfreesboro, TN, and Shawn McNamara of Haines, AK; mother-in-law, Garnet McNamara of Scott Twp.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Susan McAndrew; and father-in-law, Jerry McNamara. DAVIS GENEVIEVE (VANCE) Quietly on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Genevieve Vance Davis of North Braddock and Emlenton passed into life eternal. She was born in North Braddock on Monday, New Year's Eve, December 31, 1934. She is survived by her children, Matthew Allan (Judy Ann) Davis, Sr., of Cowansville, Barbara (Paul) Osborne of Providence Rhode Island, Norm Davis of North Braddock, Joan (late Ray) Aiello of Forest Hills, Charles (Myra) David of West Mif?in, and Richard (Kashina) Davis of North Huntingdon; 12 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John of North Huntingdon, Louise (late Morris) Fertell of Anancock,Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Agnes Hovanec Vance; and her late husband, Charles Harley Charley Davis. Ed served in World War II, in the US Navy as a signalman aboard the USS Alamance, and was a proud member of VFW Post 709 in Sharpsburg. Ed worked at Petrie Industrial Equipment Company, in Zelienople, PA until his retirement in 1989. In every day of Ed's life, in every encounter, he shared a joyous smile, kindness and warm humor, having a love for family, friends, and strangers alike, always con?dent in the opportunity to make people happy. He enjoyed dancing, singing, sports of every kind, and celebrating life with family and friends. Ed is also predeceased in death by his father, John D. Costello, and his mother, Katherine (Penberthy) Costello, his three brothers, James, Richard, and Gerald, and their wives. MacCRUM JOHN McKERRELL , III Age 71, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2019 in his home in Sebastian, FL. He was born to late parents John McKerrell MacCrum Jr. and Eleanor Colvin MacCrum on March 31, 1947. He graduated from Moon High School near Pittsburgh, PA in 1965 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA in 1969. During his time at Lehigh, he was Captain of the golf team and proud Member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He later received a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. After college he started in sales for Calgon Corporation in Coraopolis, PA and worked up to Senior Vice President of spin-off Calgon Carbon Corporation before he retired to Sebastian, Florida where he participated in multiple entrepreneurial endeavors. An avid golfer, John was a long time Member of Sewickley Heights Country Club in Sewickley, PA. John was the epitome of a family man. The most important thing in his life was his family. Education and constantly acquiring knowledge from everyone and every experience that was presented to him was also important to John . A world traveler, sometimes by choice, sometimes by necessity, gave him a great sense of understanding, profound kindness and sel?essness, which was a big part of his character that put people at ease and drew them to him. John was a ?ercely loyal and sentimental true gentleman known for his deep love of family, golf and the Pittsburgh Steelers. One or all of these things were known to bring a tear to his eye, which his daughters loved to tease him about. As an amazing father and grandfather, John instilled a strong work ethic, loyalty and kind-hardheartedness into his daughters. He was constantly reminding them and those close to him to always consider others and the challenges they were going through, and to remain positive and grateful for the fortune in their lives. John's legacy will be honored and lovingly remembered by his children, Kelly MacCrum and Kristy (Andy) Corkan; two grandchildren, Lloyd and Lindsey; two sisters, Karen (Wayne) Hall and Susan MacCrum; former wife, mother of his children and friend of John, Christine MacCrum; an aunt and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, John McKerrell MacCrum Jr.; mother, Eleanor Colvin MacCrum; brother, Bruce MacCrum; and 17 year partner, Christine Yarbrough. John will be remembered as an honest, calm, generous and kind soul who brought continuous wisdom and happiness to those lucky enough to know him. Per John's request, there will be no public service. A celebration of life for family and friends will be scheduled at a date and venue still to be determined. McCAGUE EDWARD JOSEPH, JR . Age 94, on Monday, February 25, 2019. Beloved husband of 68 years to Genevieve Brady (McSwigan) McCague; loving father of Edward J. McCague, III (Mary) of Lakewood, NY, Kathryn M. Pease of Charleston, SC, Margaret M. McCague of Aspinwall, and Joan M. Sims of Pittsburgh; cherished grandfather of Sonja S. Tutwiler (Rick), Eric R. Siegmund and Genevieve V. Sims. Born on March 20, 1924, son of Dr. Edward J. and Margaret McCook McCague, Ed grew up in the company of three sisters and two brothers. He loved the outdoors and spent much time hunting with his friends. Ed attended Shadyside Academy, Portsmouth Priory and the University of Virginia, and was a life-long member of St. Scholastica Parish . In 1942, at eighteen, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps where he earned his single engine wings as a P-40 pilot at Eagle Pass, Texas, class of 44G. After volunteering for a secret mission, Ed was trained to ?y CG-4A gliders and sent to the European theatre in support of the glider campaign. At the close of WWII he was selected to ?y C-47s transports and remained in the service ?ying numerous missions in support of the post-war cleanup effort. When he returned to the US, he continued his aviation career in the Pittsburgh Air National Guard, married Jean on October 21, 1950, and began a family and career in the shipping industry. In 1962 Ed once again answered the call to serve when the family business, Kennywood Park, asked him to join their sales team. He retired Vice President of Sales after a career that spanned 30 years. His steadfast dedication to the family business and the amusement park industry lasted well after his retirement. In his later years Ed continued serving others by volunteering for over twenty years at the local VA hospital taking care of fellow veterans. His free time was spent enjoying his Greene County farm, restoring his historic log home and observing the beauty of nature with his bird dog at his side. He followed his children's families and careers with much enthusiasm always interested in what was happening in their lives and offering his support. He possessed a keen sense of humor that kept us all laughing and was a marvelous role model for how to enjoy life. A life of service to others, devotion to family and family values, and a keen love of life, He will be missed. Beloved wife of the late Louis Timpona; loving mother of Steven (Karen) Timpona; proud grandmother of Joseph and Daniel Timpona; sister of Helen Howard and the late William Guthrie. Bettie's family and friends were most important to her and she loved spending time with them. She had a special way of taking care of them when they needed it, whether it was providing a meal or just a simple phone call, she was always there for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling and dancing. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. SCH WARZ HARRYL LYNNE Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 with family by her side. Harryl was born on April 23, 1946 and grew up in Turtle Creek, PA. She later graduated from Slippery Rock University where she earned a degree in education. She was a dedicated Spanish teacher in both the North Allegheny and Hampton Township School Districts, known simply as "Señora." Her favorite job, however, was running "Nana's Daycare" for her grandchildren after she retired from teaching. Harryl loved reading, traveling, and Starbucks on Sunday nights. Her greatest fears included poor grammar, wrinkled clothing, a dirty house, and being late. She enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings for family and friends and could throw one heck of a Christmas Eve party. Harryl regularly cooked for and fed the homeless, was the leader of the neighborhood Welcome Wagon, and was active in her church's ministry. Her social calendar was impressive, as she had countless friends from so many phases and factions of her life, but she successfully maintained relationships with them all. Never one to sit still, Harryl was busy living life. Harryl was a devoted mother to Jamie Schwarz and Krista (Craig) Simon; a doting Nana to Haley and Libby Schwarz and Leo, Ani, and Vanessa Simon; and a loving sister to Jim Smith, Kathleen Chesley, Susan (George) Gamble, and Lorna Laird. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Agnes Smith. But most importantly, Harryl was married for almost 50 years to the love of her life, Bruno Schwarz. Friends received Friday, 4-8 p.m. at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church.
